How often do vampires have to feed?

Obviously vampires don’t need 3 square meals a day like humans do, otherwise they’d suck the entire neighboring village dry in a few months (if not sooner). How much blood would a vampire have to drink to sustain itself? Would drinking an entire human last it a week? Would a cow sustain it for two?
Let’s keep the Dracula/Nosferatu mythology in mind. Pardon me for sounding closed-minded, but I’m naturally inclined to think that anyone claiming to be a vampire is just confused.
